This Environmental Policy is designed specifically for Samurai Productions. It covers the standard requirements for film production.

1. Vision and Commitment

Samurai Productions recognises that film and media production have a significant impact on the environment through carbon emissions, resource consumption, and waste generation. We are committed to minimising our ecological footprint and leading the industry toward a more sustainable future.

Our goal is to integrate environmental considerations into every stage of the production process—from script to screen—ensuring that our creative output does not come at the cost of the planet.

• Comply with all relevant environmental legislation and industry standards (such as the Albert or Green Production Guide frameworks).
• Reduce our total carbon footprint by prioritizing energy efficiency and low-carbon transport.
• Minimize waste through the principles of "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle."
• Promote environmental awareness among our employees, freelancers, and suppliers.

• LED Transition: We will prioritize the use of LED lighting over traditional high-energy lamps whenever possible.
• Power Sources: We will use mains power where available. When generators are required, we will opt for hybrid systems or those powered by renewable fuels (e.g., HVO).
• Equipment: All equipment must be powered down when not in use.

• Vehicle Choice: We will prioritize the use of electric or hybrid vehicles for crew transport and "runners."
• Logistics: We will encourage carpooling and the use of public transport for office-based staff and crew.
• Air Travel: Flights will be used only when absolutely necessary, and carbon offsetting will be considered for essential travel.

• Zero Single-Use Plastic: Samurai Productions is a "single-use plastic-free" zone. We provide water refill stations and require crew to bring reusable bottles.

• The "Strike" Plan: Before a set is built, a "strike plan" must be in place to ensure materials are donated, sold, or recycled rather than sent to a landfill.

• Digital First: We operate a "paperless" office policy. Call sheets, scripts, and contracts are distributed digitally.
